Portomarin to Palas de Rei
Day 6 - Thursday, April 16 - 36468 steps
I slept badly during the night. There was someone near by who was snoring very loudly!
I left at about 6:30 and found breakfast at a nearby cafe that was open. There was a customer there who didn't speak any English or Spanish and he was using his phone to translate for him.
Walked for a bit and then joined up with a guy from the UK named Marc. He was quite the talker!
We stopped at Hostoria de Gonzor for a snack. I stayed on after to deal with my blisters and Mark kept going.
Lots more walking and I came to the Cruceiro de Lameiros. It was VERY old, probably of the same era as the ruins at Castromajor. Good place for a rest and manage my blisters.
It was a pretty warm day so lots of rests. I stopped for lunch for an empinada at A Pasade Formiga.
And then I stopped again for an ice cream. Why not!
I snapped a photo of this dog who exactly expressed how I felt at this point.
Finally arrived at Palas de Rei (Palace of the King)
Did my usual checkin / shower / nap / groceries.
My blisters were seriously starting to bother me. I looked around for a shoe store to see if I could get a more comfortable pair of shoes. But the best I could find was some cushioned socks.
