Santiago to Madrid
Day 10 - Monday, April 20 - 24-16 steps
I slept in, checked out and walked back into Santiago.
I put my backpack into storage at the Post Office - of all places.
I wandered around the old town. It reminded me a lot of Rome, but on a smaller scale.
I went into the Cathedral after finding the correct entrance - Praza das Praterias by the Fonte dos Cabalos.
I also found a nice courtyard that turned out to be the University of Santiago.
My train to Madrid was at 2:00 so I picked up my backpack and headed to the station.
I ran into the Spanish lady again on the platform and we wished each other 'buen camino' for the last time.
The train took about 3 hours to cover the 600km to Madrid.
I decided to walk from the train station to the hostel in Madrid - about an hour's walk.
The place was a dump and I'm glad I was only staying one night.
I had to check in remotely via Booking.com and everything was done via What's App.
Had dinner near by at Rodilla and the konked out for the night.
